If you dent you tank will it effect retests, anyone know the specific criteria needed to pass? What sort of damage compromises the safety of your tank?
Dented?!?! How the fu<k did you manage that? Do you mean you've chipped off a bit of the outer coating that covers the fibre glass? Are there any fibres visable.
If you've damaged your tank DON'T fill it until someone who knows their stuff has checked it - the dive shop perhaps. It not worth risking it blowing up.
sadly not me mate, one of our guys was borrowing it over the hols dented going into a bunker. got it back with a 3000psi fill which its holding well.
EDIT - may go home and empty it . . .
Just unsure of what to do. as don't want a tank thats going to blow my shoulder off. there a no fibres showing that i can see as its been covered in some sort of resin.
Yeah...watched "Vroom Vroom" t'other day...they filled a car tyre up with 300psi, when it went, it mashed up (broke to bits) the alloy rim it was on.
Scary stuff.
Maybe you have just dented teh resin on teh outside?
