Feedneck thread...

Hey Guys and Gal's,

The manufacturer of my main marker decided that they would be stupid and have their own crap thread for the feedneck. Its basically a plastic collar that the feedneck screws onto. I am looking at having a new collar made for me.

What I am trying to find out, is there a standard thread that is used by all manufacturers?

Attached is a picture of the feedneck set-up (sorry about the quality, couldnt get a better picture).

Nope, manufacturers use many different threads on the feednecks mate.

If you are trying to replace the part on the left of your pic as its made of plastic most metal workers would be able to figure the thread out and try and copy it if your wanting to use the existing feedneck. Alternatively get an aftermarket clamping feedneck and get a part machined to fit.

have you tried contacting the manufacturer direct to see if they do there own line of upgrades for the marker?

Thanks mate, the Manufacturer has closed down soon after they released the marker (yay me).

Ok, will need to decide what I want to use. As I want to use a thread that I can easily replace.

Altho I hear it can use old Timmy 2K2 feednecks, so might look at one of those.

Its a Dragun "The One". Imported from the US, they closed shortly after I bought it. The punks used funny threads on EVERYTHING. Cant replace the reg without replacing the ASA, due to threads. Also cant get grips for it since they are non-standard.

Link to a pic of it from 2 years ago... its with Sloth at the moment as I hate the colour, black to red fade on its way.

As for 2k2 Timmys being cocker... there were 2 threads they did, a Timmy one and a cocker one. It needs to be actual Timmy one.

CP do a clamping feedneck that has this thread so will look at getting that, not finding them in the UK tho.

The point of this is to get a clamping feedneck as the stock one is too small for a Halo.

As much as people will say get another gun, I have bought an Impulse (from here) and will be looking at something else as well. But this is my first marker, and it RIPS. Got a few mods planned, new hammer, install a QEV and a new main spring and it should be close to the reaching the theoretical limit of 30 cps. I say Cycles as Im not sure if I need a new LPR to reach that in BPS. May even make a new grip frame for it, depending on how I feel. Plus its a piece of piss to maintain.

The 2k2 timmy was cocker thread, when the alias came along they changed the thread mid way through its production to a billett neck, which oddly isnt much of a thread at all.. so looking at your pics its most definately cocker thread..

If your looking for a new gun i have a mate selling a mint ion :)

Dont know now, all the treads on another forum say its the Timmy one (alias I believe) 2 threads will be left visiable tho, which isnt the end of the world...

As for the Ion, no thanks. As much as I think the Ion is good... its not for me. Will be looking at either an Ego, Timmy or a shocker. Not sure about the shocker tho.

I might email planet to see if they have the dimentions for it.
