now I ain't been paid to say this......
PGI, so good I normally buy 2 copies a month. One to read (and put in my kit bag), and one to keep crispy and fresh and save for nostalgia (or show my mummy when Monkey Love make the BIG print).
I occasionally buy Facefull on the strength of the visuals, but don't really read it (although this may not be doing it justice), and I do sometimes feel guilty buying it.
Never seen Action Sports so can't comment.
PGIs main strength is despite being a niche magazine for a relatively small distribution it maintains a consistent production quality. It's probably done more to legitimise Tournament Paintball in the UK than many people realise. By showing the game at an aspirational level, and concentrating on it's higher (competition wise) echelons, the UK baller should be aware of how the game should be played and portrayed. Also PGI manages to maintain a strong brand association. Now Monkey Love may not be franchise that PGI want to be associated with (I know some others do not), but it's kinda cool to meet and talk to the people you read about in glorious Technicolor on a monthly basis in the flesh, makes you think and try to aspire to this level (albeit with a little less errrrr flowery language, Robbo). Many of us won't reach these levels, but it would be nice to try.
Try the grot mag analogy, if all you think your only worthy of pulling is mooters and swamp-donkeys, then Penthouse or Playboy is never really gonna flick your switch is it. Best you stick to UK Wives or 40+ etc.
Besides PGI's got P8 and that is a great place to pass some time when faced with 12 days at work, so good infact I misplaced 300,000,000 US Dollars for a day (short & sweet posts from now on), and that's allot of Paintballing.....
