F/S UK Large Quantity Substantial Steel Posts (Field Netting Etc.)

I'm a country member!
I have a large quantity of substantial steel posts, 69 in all, each post is approx 3.5 metres long and made of two welded sections of substantial steel, at one end there is a box section approx 80mm square (nominally 3-in) and the other is steel tube of approx 75mm diameter. Where the two parts join they are welded to a 6mm plate. The box section is approx 900mm long and has through holes (with welded steel plate reinforcement) for steel reinforcement rods to be inserted for concreting in to the ground. The tube (top section) is approx 2.5 metres or 8'2-3/8" in old money.

They were going to be used for a training field, but the land deal fell through and then another field was set up in the area. Since then they have been stored in a lock-up garage, now we have had notification the garages are due for demolition and I no longer have anywhere suitable to store them.

At 2.5 m hight they are just tall enough for field use, however, you could extend them in a number of ways, suggestions include slipping longer scaffold poles inside, topping them with wooden fence poles, or cutting the top section from another post, sleeving the two and welding them up to give you a 5m high post above ground.

All that sounds good, now the hard parts, they are COLLECTION ONLY,each post weighs 20-25kg so the combined weight is somewhere between 1400 and 1750 kg (1.4 - 1.75 metric Tonnes). You will need a long wheelbase Sprinter, or a drop-side or similar, and with that amount of weight, may have to make two trips.

The scrap value of these is probably in the £300 area, given that it is extra hassle for me to hire a van to get them weighed in at the local metals yard, or let a 'dealer' collect them and cover his profit I'm pricing these at £200 collected.

The deal will have to be completed pronto, before the diggers move in, and the posts collected.
