Expanding Marker Lube

Talking to a tech mate he suggested using a lube that is similar to all the others but that causes 'o' rings to swell. He thought it might sort out some trouble I'm having with a Shocker I'm building although as a Angel tech he thought a more permanent solution would be better!! Anyway, does anyone have nay idea what this lube is called Tech couldn't remember, would also be useful to know where it can be bought from.

Dow 55 causes natural rubber to swell I believe.

sounds like dow 55, but if your having to swell orings to get it to seal, then something else is very wrong

Cheers for the info. Anyone know brands of the Dow 55 lube? Not replaced o rings on this Shocker but have striped and lubed it. The suggestion from my tech was that a little of the Dow 55 strategicly applied around them might help if there is any alloy wear internally.

Just buy an oring kit and go from there.The shocker is designed to use dow 33 not 55.

There shouldnt be any alloy wear inside it unless its been abused by someone. Id always use Dow 33 on shockers to stop o-ring swelling (ive fond on the bolt a mixture of dow 33 and marker oil makes for a very nice and smooth bolt)

Used that mix for years, couple of drops of eclipse oil into the front of the bolt sleeve after lubing everything with dow 33 is bob on, helps reduce bolt stick and FSDO.
