if you know how to check for optimum pressure new ones can go lower than 300 but it depends if you have one of the newer style valves or not
yep newish ones are all set to 300. a bit older and you may want to go up to 350 but very few will need 400, only if its like one of the first ever Evo classics

I just picked up an evolution X autococker and was told that the
pressure should be running at around 450. I don't know how old
it is but it can't be more than 2 years. Any ideas?

i'd be VERY surprised if you need 450 in there,
as long as its working well and nobody has put some rubbish valve in there 300 psi should be fine or depending on the gun and set up mayeb up to 350 but i doubt it
