Evlution 2 battery compartment

Has anyone out there got any tried and tested mods for the battery compartment on the egg 2 so that it will close properly when you put the batteries in. (mine worked fine for about 2 months and has now given up and decided it does not want to stay shut anymore)

I thought i might try cutting down the bits on the back of the battery door to take some of the pressure off has anyone attempted this ?

Also where is the best (cheapest) place to get spare shells/ egg 2 parts in the uk.

cheers.

ps. Before you say it Yes I know duck tape or electrical tape will hold the battery door on. This is not the answer i am looking for !!!

pps. If you have not upgraded to the Z board yet why not ? I put one in the other day and yes they do make a difference to the speed and consistency .......now if i can only get the battery compartment to stay shut !!! :D

As for the batteries
It really depends what batteries you use
Manufacturers do not have an exact size to make PP3 batteries to so you will find they are all slightly different in size. I don't have trouble with my duracells, just a tight fit. Find a good set and stick to them.
Do not cut down the bits, sand them down gradually

Thanks for the reply dark warrior but i have been using duracells and these started off as a tight fit that ended up putting too much pressure on the not very stong tiny piece of plastic that holds the battery door shut.

This would seem to be a design flaw as i have seen many people at the last tournament with electrical tape etc holding together their hoppers.

you don't need to sand or cut anything. Just bend the battery contacts in a little. They are metal, after all. Then If you end up using some really small batteries later on, you can pull them back to their original position with an allen key.
