Evil Pipe Kit ION

Hi guys,
just wondering if i bought an evil pipe kit with ion threads will i be able to put a barrel of my choice with ion threads on the insert instead of the evil front ? Also is the pipe kit worth buying over a freak kit as far as preformance goes ?
