I'm curious, I badly need an adjustable-bore barrel, but smart parts can go to hell. So, I'm looking at the evil pipe barrels. What can you guys tell me about them? Be honest, now- I'm poor (uni...) and can't screw this up.

yeah they are freaking good barrels, nicely presented, fit together perfectly, super accurate....need I go on? One of my team has one and I am very jealous coz I now really want one and like you I am poor uni student
Well I have been using a pipe system for a few months now and have had no problems, the only thing I am worried about is the tips which are quite thin so am generally quite careful when sliding into bunkers and whatnot so not to knock it.
Another system which might be worth looking at is the empire barrel kit which is pretty good aswell (has had good reviews) and not to badly priced either http://www.empirepaintball.com/
Phoenix Paintball in the UK stock these, don't thing there on the site yet but if you call them they are in stock 4-piece & 10-piece barrel kits
Seen from the outside this barrel turns up your gun into a harley davidson exaust pipe... it makes your gun loud! we experienced that on cockers and matrixes...
Mey Mike, 5 of the guys on the team have these, and they think that they rock. We have them on the cockers and they are as loud as any other barrel. Accuracy is very good, and the interchangibility is good too. No little inserts that are fragile either. To give you more of an idea the guys on the team turned down using free barrels and bought these Pipe Systems from Piper in Toulouse. They have yet to complain about the efficiency and accuracy yet.
Well, that's bout all I need to hear. Cheers for the info, I'll be picking one up from Piper soonishly. Thanks, all. I'll let you know how it shoots.
