some angels (my fly included) dont like the force behind the halo's ball push which leads to two balls getting chambered sometimes. i dunno if the euro (which i shot a while ago at lps, pref my fly, but horses for courses) suffers from the same problems but its something to try reading up on ....

This indeed seemed to be a problem with the Angels. I shot an A4 when it first came out, and I had a HALO on it, but it caused a lot of trouble.
However, it seems it has been remedied in the more recent releases. A good example is Stockholm Joy. They all shoot Angels with HALOs, and I saw them have next to no trouble with them.

I've only just started using a halo and it makes a huge difference when using a fast gun, can't believe i was using a revvy until 4 weeks ago...

The new angels are fine with halo's as we have a coule of euro speeds and flys which rock with them on top....
Big Dave has an old lcd, he drilled a hole and stuck another detent in and he can even use the halo on that.

The basic problems people have or used to have with the Angel + Halo combo are because of the following reasons:
- Angels with sensi (A4, Speed) tend to puncture the balls because the sensi tip is too pointy. A way to solve this is to take the sensi tip out, take a piece of printer paper, and "sand" it down a bit. Be carefull you don't sand down too much.
- Halos push down hard on paintballs. Because of this certain weaker paintballs sometimes break under the strain. This is a basic Halo trait, but doesn't happen that often. The new Victory board or the Empire Reloader B (adjustable feedrates) should fix this problem.

While the things mentioned above may have been factors (the pointy COPS/SENSI rod being the least probable of anything), the main problem with angels and halos in the LCD/IR3 generation were caused by the design of the bolt. The bolt face was wide open and set back, allowing one paintball to roll back into the bolt face and allow another ball in the spring-pressurized stack to partially enter the breach and get chopped when the marker fired. The new softface bolt clears up many of those problems by having a tapered end and domed face. The dual ball detents also help with that problem. Many IR3s and LCDs are usable with HALOs with the new softface bolt and/or the addition of an extra ball detent. Of course, the new A4/Fly have those features standard, so problems with HALOs should now be pretty much non-existent.

I agree that the soft nose bolt makes a difference.

But dual ball detents, thats just old wives tales.
Either your detents (whether you have 1, 2 or 50) are strong enough to stop paint passing them, or they arent. Its quite simple.

I have found AGD detents to be much stronger than WDP ones, and run great with my halo.
