I have now recovered!

Ok here is a rough diary of events for anyone thats interested

What went wrong.

Wednesday

Recieve more last minute drop outs Notorius & CP Red. Calculate £9000 loss for lots of hard work (dont forget im a player as well guys not a fat cat bussiness man). Go to stadium to ste up scaffold towers, security fencing etc Calculate we can only run 3 fields instead of 4 becouse of the low amount of teams meaning we would finish all prelims on saterday by 13.30

Thursday

Arrive on site at 07.00 to only 5 set up crew instead of 10. Angel field doesnt arrive so matty drives to nials (3 hours their & back) to pick it up. Jeff has problems & doesn't arrive on site until 12.00 instead of 08.00 (he has all the wire, netting, blowers etc) finish 21.45 site is nearly set up but sand bags have still not arrived.

Friday

Still working with 7 instead of 10. Find out a further 3 trade stands have cancelled & calculate £10000 loss (now this is getting beyond a joke). Find out we have lost 5 marshalls & i now need to spend time to replace them.

Saterday

Arrive on site at 07.05 (the site doesnt open until 07.00) to a severe bollocking from the stadium manager becouse some idiots had jumped over the fence to walk the field s & set of the CCTV which is linked to the town centre, police etc so the stadium manager gets a call in the morning(waking her up) that their are people in the stadium. We put the schedule forward from 08.00 to 09.15 To give the admin staff time to register all the teams(as only 12 had registerd on the friday), it would also give the teams time to walk the fields. We were sceduled to finish at 15.16 the actually finished at 16.20 (sorry if this was bad for some team)

Sunday

Recieve a call at 06.40 from the Stadium manager saying the site is unrepairable & the tournement is off(dont forget the stadium is owned by the councel). So i rush their calm her down & the staff get the site back up & running at about 11.00 we are now 3 hours behind schedule with only 2 fields instead of 3. The staff work their arse of & we finish the show at 19.05 1 hour behind schedule. We fu$ked up on sunday & feel i must apoligise to my customers for not providing them with everything we had planned ie good scheduling, 3 fields, big cash prizes.
We spread £3500 in cash prizes over to next years budget in free entrys & hotel which all teams are welcome to sell, to try & recope some lost cash.

Monday

Tidy up from 07.00 to 22.00

Tuesday

Tidy up from 07.00 to 22.00. Confirm site is spotless with hotel manager & get invited back for European 5 Man Championships 2 ( i must be mad). The first bit of good news i have recieved all week.

Wednesday

Sort out paper work, go & see bank manager about loan to pay for expenses.

What went right

1)Improved parking no more luging your kit for miles (yes my feet did hurt at Campaign

2)No brake your legs flooring in the players area( yes i did fall ass over tit in germany & sweden)

3)Filtered Air (Yes i did get dirt in my gun & air system, yes i did $hit my pants flash filling at Toulouse etc)

4)Good cheap food & drinks (yes i have paid £1 for tea & £3 for burgers etc)

5)Air system close to fields (yes i have forgotten to fill & run my ass for miles to air rigs &/or even started with no air.

6)Good unbiased Marshalling ( yes i have been victim to bad marshalling at big events many times)

7)Clean staging area (yes i have had my kit bag covered in paint from broken paint etc)

8)Quite staging area were teams are free to talk about game plans etc or just relax (yes i do hate dry firing its noisy & sometimes really annoying)

9)Ultimate Marshall on every field (yes i have had bad calls & called the ultimate to the field to be confronted with the same old line "i gotta back the marshals")

10)Anouther high quality event in the UK/Europe with top quility teams in a truly awesome stadium.

11)Good high quality Toilets(yes i have qued for porta loos which i spent more time cleaning than i did going)

12)High quality film crew(yes i have always said we need more tv covarage media coverage etc i think everyone that was their was filmed/interviewed or both at some point during the tournament)

13)Try & create a good understanding between "Paintball the sport" & the councils for everyone involved in the sport. (yes i have had problems in the past with trying to get councels to see past the killing/army/danger stigma that paintball can sometimes have)

14) Safe & secure Trade stands with CCTV (direct to police) & Security officer next to stands all night(in fact he even saved 2 trade stands from blowing away)

Hope this clears everything up for you guys,

Woz

I would just like to say that even with everything that went wrong, the torney was still one of the best this year even though we played it like a bunch of newbies!!

Thanks again to everyone.

Rancid,

Im not defending myself soooo much( in fact i dont feel any need to defend myself at all) just putting my customers in the picture & squasing any nasty little rumours while im at it.

Warren/Matty,
I am glad you guys got invited back as the event was awesome. Can't wait to play it again next year. All those teams who dropped out missed one of the best events of the year.
Also a big thank you to all the guys on Shockwave Pro for letting me play for them. I had a wicked time playing Pro.

The saturday event was a pretty cool day and great to watch (and chear on wolf) but if you where short quality marshalls why did you not call on local sites for experienced marshalls as both myself and collegue where both free and would have loved to marshall at such an event.

Also saturday i gether all the marshalls that were availible were to nakered to actually move around the field a lil bit :D But hey im making me a shild now thanks to the influence :p

F3Z,

I thought the marshalling was suberb, considering i had only 3 problems to deal with all weekend. Dont forget on sunday they were 3 hours behind & 1 field down.

If you would be free to marshall next year that would be just great, if you fancy it let me know(yes we do pay) as Tigers Am have already said they want to play next year not marshall.

Let me know & anyone else who fells the got what it takes.

Good effort Warren,

Not an easy task is it!! Apologies from CP red for dropping out, we have Sainsbury's to blame for that (booked 250 players, everyone got pulled to work, they turned up with 67!!! $*%^$^""£$) Needles to say we were pissed as we had to turn up at Campaign at 7.30, stand around getting cold for 3hrs, then go home to do nothing.

If you do run it next year fella, just shout for the bods to help set up, we got plenty of experience in that!!

Chin up!
