Etek3am breaking tourney paint

I recently picked up a MINT condition etek 3am. The lpr is flush the dwell is set at 9 and it keeps breaking sterling Mace in the breach, my etek is the only gun that does it, I've tried the paint and my rotor on a Pmr an axe a mini and a rail, all of those shoot the paint fine, I thought dwell might be an issue to be softer on paint will I put the dwell up or down? What's the best way to cure this problem?

Is it broken in yet?.... was it cold? as the paint may have been brittle... if not you could Lower LPR pressure, and raise dwell. Also raise BIP! make sure you got a good paint-barrel match....Dont use too much force on your loader Hope this helps....

Planet eclipse are recommending a dwell of 10.0ms (As opposed to 9.0ms Factory setting) on the Etek 3's as a higher dwell setting should allow you to lower your LPR, which will make the marker a bit quieter/smoother and higher dwell settings can also help to make the marker a bit more consistent matey......

Some stupid things that can cause it as well. Make sure you try a fresh battery and secondly check the detents are okay, not just visibly but stick your finger on them and make sure neither is sheared and just hanging on

Detents are fine, battery is new, lpr is flush, weather was chilly but 4 other guns were using the same paint and loader and were firing fine

The other guns you tried all have ball and spring style detents, not the rubber nubbin type eclipse guns have. May be worthwhile checking the tension on your Rotor. It may be forcing more than one ball into the breech.

Pmr 08 had rubber detents, just set dwell to 11.5 shot fine, dropped to 10 broke dropped to factory 9 broke....... Rotor works fine on all other guns

As advised set your dwell at 10ms.

The stock bore size barrel with an Etek3 is 0.689. I would suspect that the stock barrel on other markers is larger so i'd just check that the paint you are trying to shoot is correctly sized for your choice of barrel

Factory reset........dwell to 11.5, millennium ramping, 10.5 bps THEN played today, walk on and it was fine, that was field paint though will se how it goes with tourney paint next weekend,



Sorry nikki, I was told it was 8 on the first ones, then 9 on the new ones and now 10 I used a night stick today and that's a .692 but I lent the barrel to a team mate for nspl and the paint ran fine through that
