Hey guys, just been on a weekend play and while cronoing i noticed that the velocity is varying a lot, from 220fps to 283 fps.

ive just got some marker lube for the regs and totally cleaned everything, just wondering if anyone knows what else i can do to help it.

cheers

So you serviced the LPR and HPR already? If so was it doing this pre the service of these if you have?

Simple ones to overlook also is to make sure it is not the paint you are using at fault (inconsistent size, or poor fit for the bore of your barrel).

Putting a new battery in is also a good place to start if you have not already.

paint was ok in the normal etek barral, seen as my deathstix has broke

was a brand new battery

and after everygame its totally cleaned, ill have to get my hands on a crono and see if there is any difference,

also i know that its the HP reg that adjusts it but what effect does the LPR have?

thanks

When you say okay did you test to see if it was rolling out the barrel, did you have to blow it out? Paint is getting really small nowadays and the stock barrel of an etek2 is .693 I believe.

Was it a branded battery (duracell etc)?

So are you servicing the HPR and LPR (stripping and rebuilding and lubing) after every days play? If so that is not neccesary really. I only ever do my HPR after a few events, or if I start noticing inconsistancies over the chrono. LPR the same really. Are you oiling your rammer at the same time you are doing this?

The problem with teching your gun after every event, especially if you have no means to chrono and test it after you have done it is that it could be something you have done while cleaning or relubing your marker that has in fact caused the fault. I have done this myself so not bashing here :D I used to be under the impression that as long as it didnt leak I would be good to chrono and play at one time...

also i know that its the HP reg that adjusts it but what effect does the LPR have?

The LPR increases or reduces the pressure supplied to the solenoid, a higher setting will increase kick. People normally juggle the setting of there dwell and LPR in an attempt to reduce the kick of the gun. A good base if you are running stock dwell is just to have the adjuster flush with the cap. To be honest I ran my ETEK2 with it flush and stock dwell and it shot fine.

Have you changed any of your board settings? Or are you running stock dwell settings etc?

yeah i only use branded batteries,

and i strip it down coz generally there is paint in every little gap so wile its apart i give it a quick wipe down.

our team does have a crono...somewhere.... :)

dwell is set at factory i think and adjuster screw is just and so in the cap.

thanks for the advise mate
