Etek2 Inconsistent

I have recently purchased a 2nd hand etek2, it all seems to work excellent and im happy with it apart from the inconsistent fire speed. when i crono it it jumps about all over the place. yesterday in 3 shots i hit 271,254 and 284. i would expect a slight deviation but this is too far.

Can any1 help or recomment anything to try and eliminate this?

Cheers

if it isnt already try making the lpr adjuster screw flush with the casing.
last masters my ego was fireing anything between 150 and 270 using good paint. i then made my lpr adjuster screw flush with the casing and the fps hovered around 275-285.
so it may be worth giving that a try.

what paint were you using?

Cheap nasty stuff will give you results like that. Might be worth stripping your reg and LPR and relubing them along with your rammer as well.

The stock barrel is .693 which leaves loads of space, in my experiance frostbite works best with a .689, thats probs a useless bit of info however i have not had any probs when i banged on a .689 bore it levelled it right out :D

If none of the above advice fixes your issue, try upping your dwell a notch or two. If the previous owner was trying to get it more efficient by dropping the dwell, they may have dropped it too far, which results in the valve not being opened consistently -> inconsistent velocities over the chrono. Also, it may sound obvious, but if you mix two brands of paint in your loader the differences in shell bore will give equally different velocities due to the fit in your barrel.
