Hi Guys,

Just got a 2nd hand Etek 4 AM. After airing it up and playing about with it, it seems to vent air through the solenoid when the HPR is set to stock settings (4.5 turns in from max). Turning it half a turn more stops the air leak.

The marker cycles fine so I'm reluctant to blame the 'noid. I've adjusted the LPR to no effect and replaced the rammer o rings but to no avail.

I haven't had a chance to chrono it yet but it doesn't seem normal for it to vent under stock settings?

Any suggestions?

Cheers

You need to change either the number 13 O-ring on the HPR piston or the number 10 O-ring on the adjuster
Thanks for helping mate. According to the manual, there is only #11 and #16 used in the HPR assembly. Just so I don't confuse myself, changing the #11 on the adjuster screw or the #16 on the SL3 piston should do the trick?

Thanks again

Ah, the SL3 Inline. Change the No.16 on the Inline Piston for a 14x2, it creates a more reliable seal and replace the No.11 at the top of the Adjuster and the No.8 on the inside of the Adjuster. This will solve the leaking issue you have and safe-guard you from seeing it again.

Cheers Stoney.

So I've changed and greased up the new o rings (that #8 was a PITA) and I'm still getting the same problem. There doesn't seem to be any physical damage to the reg or anything like that and I've tried different tanks with different regs and still have the problem. Any furthur suggestions?

I've also changed the 3 #14x2 in the LPR assembly, taken out the valve assembly and cleaned and relubed. Everything seems in good condition as far as I can tell. Anything I could have missed? :(

Just in case anyone else has this potential problem.
After sending it to the brilliant Stewart from Glasgow Paintball Supplies, the fault was diagnosed as a damaged LPR piston seal as the pic shows.

Hope this helps someone in my position. (y)
