Etek 2 Low First Shot Velocity Problem

Hey guys,

I bought an Etek 2 off sponge bob on the forum, great marker came exactly as described but when gassed up the first shot always falls out of the barrel or barely goes anywhere, after the first shot it is fine but if you don't fire the marker for a while the first shot velocity decreases as time passes.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?
Looked in the manual and said something about low DWELL settings or could it be a problem with the solenoid?

try changing the battery and cleaning and re oiling (not grease) the rammer

if not try putty a couple of drops of oil in the asa and dry firing the gun (without the barrel) a few times

hope this helpes

Yep - battery first.
Then make sure you're using Eclipse oil or similar and NOT grease on the rammer.

thanks for the replies guys put the problem is still there regardless of what I do.
I have cleaned and checked the rammer, inline reg and lpr and all seems fine there
I have changed battery
I have oiled up with eclipse gun oil and whacked a few drops in the asa and fired it through

still the problem though, must be to do with the solenoid, which being pretty inexperienced isnt something I wana start messing with :/
any other ideas? what should I do now? getting a new solenoid will be very pricey I assume

egos and eteks don't have first shot drop off protection

have you stripped it down to the vlave and cleaned that, i could be something sticking on the valve.
