eteck ego prices

i got my etek new for a bloody good price by buying it from my local paintball site, no bottle etc but a second hand velocity from our team was only 40 quid and the rest of the guys are helping me out with other gear they have surplus to their needs. you should ask around were you play locally and im quite sure you will turn up some stuff that you will need for fair prices.
Well im not even going to try and say i know a lot about the two guns as im only starting out at paintball but i did get to use an ego 7 for a practice day with team escarmouche and also used an etek on another day. as far as firing the gun goes i cant say i noticed a lot of difference between the two certainly not enough to spend an extra 300 quid on the ego.
The wee screen is funky as hell and there is no doubt that the ego has loads more features but i couldnt justify the exta cash as most of the extra features and the higher rate of fire are out of my fingers reach for the time being.
I took the etek in the end and im more than happy with it. it will do everything i need right now and enable me to try and get my skills in other areas up to scratch without making do with a totally outclassed marker on the field.
Maybe that helps you out a little i hope it does but bear in mind its only my 2 cents view on the supject and more experienced players on here can go more into the finer points of the guns etc and other options for you to look at.

fair enough... there shouldn't be a huge dfference as long as a gun can shoot consistantly at 15.4 bps any thing else is a bonus
My advice....
Go for the newest marker you can afford.
The ETEK is far supirior than the 05 and just as good as an 06. The software is far better and if I didnt have my 06's when I did, I would of definately gone the ETEK way.

IMO the Etek is more like the 06 than the 05 but thats only due to me firing all 3 and seeing no difference in feel with the Etek and 06 compared to the 05 which seemed different
But I will say that the Etek is less easy to break considering it has less gadgets like the screen and QEV's which means there is less to go wrong with it
