does anyone know how to stop the bolt from getting all scratched and chewed up on my spyder esprit, without having to go out and get a better one? coz im kinnda straped for cash at the moment.

Sand and durt and really mess a marker up, just take it apart lub it up/clean and everything sould be fine 
also on your bolt just lube the orings with a bit of vaselene or similar, dont bath it in oil because if you do get some grit in there then the mix of grit and oil makes a VERY efficent grinding paste and can make matters far worse
I wouldnt get too upset, a scratched bolt, is a used bolt.
Your bolt will get scratched no matter what you do. If you chop, and get shell down one side of the bolt, it will push the bolt against the body, and you get a scratch.
Accept it as part of owning a marker.
But as the guys have said here - lube it and you'll have less scratches.

Well, no. All spyders do that. Give it a good lube job and it will stop scratching. But oil it every time u play.
