hi guys, im new to the game so please be kind if this has been asked before, i played last weekend and was having to leave games early due to my epiphany running out of air, i was using a 3k .8l bottle i refilled before every game, i even left the bottle full over lunch to test for leaks and it didnt budge on the gauge, i was probobly going through 500 balls at the most, is this normal and i just need a bigger bottle or does this sound wrong, thanks a lot daz ps, sorry if this is in the wrong section,

Well the obvious question is can you hear air escaping from it??? If not I know the epiphany can be adjusted with the can inserts, I have one as a back-up and have been using it with the green insert in with a dwell adjustment, and I get alot more than 500 shots.

There is a ion guide on warpig with regards to setting your dwell, i will try and explain roughly how to set it correctly assuing you have digested the manual that came with the marker, if you have a qev installed this also helps to bring the dwell down a bit...

Using the flashy lights bring your dwell down to 0 (stops flashing) increase it to about 10 flashes and pull the trigger and see if the marker will cycle (shoot), that low its doutful it will but each marker is different. Continue to up the dwell until the marker cycles (it makes a bang bang not a pfffftt pffftt) you can try going up in 3 or 5 flashes for quickness. Once you have it cycles properly you can fine tune it using single flashes (as a guess with a qev your looking at about 15 - 20 ish but each marker varies), once you find the cycle point add on 10 flashes up and its pretty much tuned ok.

There is several ways to set the dwell, another is using a chrono which is probs the best way but will use paint and my guess is if your just new you dont like to just waste paint.

Either way your marker will need to be chrono'd after setting the dwell, shoot a few balls over the chono after doing the above chances are it will read +/- 10 ish adjust it using the little spanner until you get close to the field limit (280 / 300 or whatever).

Your marker is good to go, if during rapid shooting you notice any drop off (the balls seem to drop off closer, or now and again your marker makes the pffftt noise instead of the bang bang then up your dwell say another 5 (ish) and that should cure your problem (make sure you have a good battery, brand spanking new energizer lithium or procels work great).

The more you shoot your marker the better it will become as its 'broken in' however dont expect miracles, your more then likely your only looking at 5 pods and a loader off a 1.1 @ 3k with a 0.8 @ 3k your probs only talking 3 maybe 4 pods and a loader tops.

Hope this helps, here is a few links that make a good a read if you get a chance which explain things far better then i could ...

http://www.warpig.com/paintball/technical/paintguns/smartparts/ion_calc/

The first will help you understand your marker and help you with any issues you may have or at least helps you maintain your marker. The second link explains all about modes ROF cap and of course setting the dwell correcting with a nice little tool that helps you work out how many balls per second your shooting etc.

If you get stuck i will be happy to help :D

One thing i've found with theses markers you can sometimes get a leak from the pipe push fittings inside the marker. As said make sure you you can't hear hissing.

Also what fps is the marker set to? Cos it's easy to set theses to high with the bolt on teh bottom of the reg
