Had this conversation with Robert from PE the other week.....he said hands down the prophecy wins it....mainly due to it being softer on paint. I still own 2 rotors, for the reason that you turn them on......it works.....then you turn it off. Nice and simple, just like its owner ;)

I can't see a reason to buy either.

Speed... Tourny modes seem to be getting slower, rec ball doesn't need the speed either so 30+ balls a second doesn't seem worth it.

Soft on paint... Never found a halo, reloader or pulse to be exactly hard on paint.

Ball capacity.. If you can't cope with 180 balls then is 220 really that much more.

Easy to clean... neither are easier to clean than a £20 set of hybrid shells.

Cost... £100+ high price to pay for something you will probably never use to the full.

Battery life... Use rechargables.

Lots of peope will point out the case for an Ego 06 or 07 vs buying a new 09, I'd say you can make the same case for a Halo B or Reloader B against either of the two new hoppers.

They are the equivalent of putting 5 blades on a razor.

Good point Andy, with 10bps knocking around you could even get away with.....dare I say it.......a gravity fed hopper unless you're playing snake :D

Now that would look cool, an EGO 9 with a £4 viewloader hopper

I'd argue that the rotor IS easier to clean than a halo with hybrid shells. Whatsmore, I find that the materials that the rotor is made from to be of a far higher quality, and I've already taken it on some pretty rough dives!!
Furthermore, the battery efficiency of a loader isn't just about cost. With my xsv vlocity, I was changing the batteries after every day of play, and often half way through the day. Tournaments can be won or lost on something as simple as batteries dying out on you half way through a game, so having that extra confidence in it's ability is a factor that I personally don't mind paying for.
The rotor's profile is also lower than any of the last gen loaders, and that acts as a huuuge advantage when playing.

For me, the rotor trumps them all simply because of its profile; it works well due to increased visibility and looks awesome to boot.

get yourself a £20 egg hopper, i use rechargeable with it and it always lasts me a walkon+ with no problems,
it shifts all the weight back as well which is neat, and its cheap as chips

Battery life is about knowing my loader will perform flawlessly all day, as another poster pointed out. My torque used to crap out midgame occasionally, and I lost games that way.

Easy to clean applies to between games too. If you've ever been shot in your speedfeed in an xball match, you'll know that it matters how fast you can clean your loader out.

Ball capacity: not necessary, but it's certainly nice to be able to suppress your mirror and bump up without having to reload and giving them an easy move. Or if you're being closed out in a 3 on 1 those reloads are vital time wasted.

Soft on paint: shooting very fragile paint is a joy. Knowing your loader isn't going to be full of soup is too.

Speed: it's less about speed than constant pressure on the ballstack for me. When I come up out of the snake I need those first 10 shots to come as quickly as possible, and when my loader skips it gives my target a chance to tuck in. That's why I went with the rotor tbh.

You feel the benefits of a good loader in extreme situations, not casual play. I would not say that my TSA backman is sufficient for how I play, but my rotor does just fine, despite both being able to keep up with rof caps.

I'd take the prophecy if I were a backman (light, soft on paint, large capacity, durable), but I like the constant pressure on the ballstack that you get with the rotor. And it's sexy
