i got a teardrop but it likes big paint, and sometimes i'm forced to shoot smaller paint, so i want a kit, my moneys tight so i have to get a cheap kit, the empire 4 piece kit (.687, .689, .691 and about $95) how is this kit, and how do these sizes match up to diablos, pmi premiums, marbs, and all stars

i was kinda looking at the all american and buying inserts but that would cost me much more and i can't get a job yet so thats sorta out of the question

Hi Ya,

As you may know Empire do several kits, I have a 7 piece Autococker kit with 6 backs, .681, .684, .687, .690, .693, & .696 and 8" tip - but I will be getting some extra tips..

I've only ever used the .681, .684 and .687 and .690 - so far

You seem to have the slightly bigger sizes, but unless you are having a real problem with paint you should find that you're probably using the .687 more than the other two.

I guess it really depends on the brand and type of paint you're using - I was using Celtic yesterday on the .684 and it was perfect, the other week we were using Sever and even the the .681 was slightly too big, but I guess its better to be slightly too big than slightly too tight!

Like above I reckon you've got most of the sizes covered, but if you do run into problems you can always purchase the extra backs..

As for their usability - they are very good and... I bought mine new through e-bay and got the kit delivered to my door, all the way from the USA for £80!
