hey everyone, when i first came to this board i asked the basic questions of which gun i should get, alot of players said to get a spyder e-99 because it has a bunch of different fireing modes like semi, 3 burst 6 burst and full auto. im not dogging anybody that has a gun with firering modes, i just want to now what the advantages of having a gun that can shoot 3 paintballs at a times compared to a gun that shoots one. it seems like a waste of paint to fire 3 balls at a guy and hitting him, toward just to shot 1 ball and hit him:confused: . if any one that may own or have owned a gun like this post some of the advantages and disadvantages.

there ain't any realy, appart froml lazyness, cheap electros are what they say.
i would spend more £££ on a decent marker,ie angel, timmy.bushy, immpy, matrix ,even if it means buying second hand(try the classifieds here).these will out shoot any automatic speed wise on semi ,and will be more consistent.besides full auto/burst fire is illegal in the uk+most other sites/tourneys in the usa
a decent mechanical marker is also a good bet ,ie a cocker or a mag, both are reliable and don't need batteries:D

I agree with le-pig. You can't use enhanced firing modes in any tournament (that I know of) and very few fields allow them for insurance reasons. Every week I have to tell some newbie they can't use full auto on the field. :(

Besides, burst and automatic won't improve your game. If you use them in a game you're cheating in two ways - if it's not allowed at the field and relying on technology just to throw more paint. They might be fun to use at the target range, but in the long run, being able to accurately shoot your marker is more important.

That's not to say the E-99 isn't a decent low-end electro. It's solid, reliable, easy to fix, and has some decent upgrades. But if you're getting it just for burst or auto, you're wasting your time and money.

they make them because there is a market to sell them, some fields do allow them, but as i said with a decent semi you can fire quicker anyway.no offence to anyone but it's mainly kids who buy them only to relise that there not that good:(

theres not much point in fire modes as everyone has already pointed out, whats the point in practicing with em if you cant use em in tournies.....id advise looking at other markers too, yes spyders are great starter guns but for not much more you could more than likely pick up a 2nd hand cocker that will easily out perform any spyder
