OK i know quite a few people here shoot the ego and i was hoping to canvass some opinions hafving shot one myself i am hoping to pick one up soon .. however i would like a british perspective as a lot of the reviews ive read are by yank 14 year olds.

basically other than the prohibitive cost can anyone give me a good enough reason NOT to get an ego, or suggest another gun over the Ego

thanks ian

bud - the ego is on a par with every other high end marker out there and is definately worth the money - the only reason NOT to get one is if you prefer to shoot angels or timmys etc . buy one -you will not be dissapointed. i've had three so far and not had an issue with any of them , top gats - i use my xsv ego for tourneys as its very reliable and i can garantee it will be working perfectly when my other markers have let me down (self inflicted or not ).

do it ;)

Cool that was kinda what i was thinking, cheers for your opinions.
Ive shot an Alias and liked it but im not too hot on the looks or the trigger of Timmys...

Similarly Angels, had an 04 speed and not mad on the 90 frame and the newer 05 speeds (45 frames etc) ive seen and shot smash a lot of paint so im probably going to go with the Ego. Its one of those things where i just tried it for a couple of games and said "yeah i want one" !

Just out of interest why have you had 3 of them?

Personally Im a fan of eclipse guns, the frames, software interface and triggers and i am near manchester so it makes a lot of sense from that point of view. Other than some dodgy eye stuff the other day my eclipse cocker has never let me down or ever chopped a ball either...

Now just gotta decide what colour to get :p

had three of them because im a marker tart (surely you've noticed ):D - bought them and then sold them on - si2050 has one and desponge has the other and they're both very happy with them - ive still got my xsv and ill be keeping that, the other ones just got sold on when i needed the cash for the shocker phase im going through just now .and i have to fully admit they are much more reliable than shockers .

cheers

The Ego's are light, quick and pretty well built compared to the Timmies (best thing i can compare it to), They seem to have a little more kick than a timmy and i found them to be a touch harsh on paint compared -

I had the hard decision of going for either a ego or another matrix and i decided to go with the matrix mainly due to the support Dye give to their customers and lack of kick/moving parts

The ego is the latest high end marker to come out so there is alot of hype about them at the minute - it will soon pass......

Not knocking the ego but your best bet is to try it - try other marker in your price range - see if it suits your style of play and think to yourself can you really spend £500 +without any regrets?

The ego is the "IN" marker at the moment.

All other markers are getting sold, to be replaced by one.

This was the same as last year with the "alias" based timmys.

I have not got one, but have had a go, and are watching my team mates use their's.

Seems like a good solid reliable peice of kit, only doubt in my mind is that they have "updated" it a number of times already....

The best bit of advice is to try as many gats as possible, as if you have £500 odd to spend they are all gona chuck paint out quickly.

Some do have more kick than others, for example i have an ego and strange shocker, and you can vertually feel no blowback with the shocker.

Frankly Dye and Eclipse both have top notch customer support so they are always a really good bet.

i have shot an alias and the new angels but not a matrix however i do know the matrixes are great but i cant get by what they look like and the height of the guns myself. sounds shallow and i bet if someone let me have one id love it, guess i should really try one first.

i just used an ego and kinda though that was the right one for me, i like how small it is and that you can get your face right up to it...dunno who im trying to convince haha probably just gonna get one soon i hope.

thanks for the advice guys
for what its worth i dont mind a touch of kick to remind me im actually shooting something and although im biased i found the ego pretty fair on the kick, compared to my eblade anyways

thanks

updated? sure a few small tweaks like remilling and a guage added, but not really updated. besides they are also team guns the ones that have been 'updated'

imo. awesome marker. owned most gats and the ego is by far my favourite. never had a problem with mine.
