Ego9 Resale Value

Im wondering if the resale value of the newest PE markers has always been as low as with the Ego9? I see prices as low as 500 for a marker which costs twice as much new. Some of these have not even been broken in! Just a month or two ago they were selling for around 650.

Has the resale value been the same for the ego8?

Is everyone now just willing to sell for such a price because no one is willing to buy for more? I would assume that this isnt the cause of such a large decrease in value as many people buy these new.

part of the problem may be that the price jump came after the ego9 had gone on sale - so a lot of markers were purchased at a lower price to start with.

people know this and are maybe not willing to part with the extra. i bought a second hand ego7 a few months after it came out for £600 - £200 off the retail price.

the first ego8s did the same, as did the first ego9s. but the price rise on the ego9s means maybe people are not looking to spend nearer £800 on second hand.

sounds like a good reason. Many of the ones on this forum have been put up after the price increase so they could as well charge a little more for their markers. Some have as few as one or two cases through them so its basically buying a new marker for 100 or 200 less. The prices increased and is here to stay for now so those wishing to buy an ego9 either spend the new price or get an ego9 for a bit less. Half price seems a bit too little in my opinion.

Its interesting to see the resale value when comparing it to other countries. Although there arent as many ego9s in Poland as in the UK, they go for 700ish.
