??

we try to keep the price of the etek at a lowest cost possible

if we put the LCD screen as standard on the Etek2 we would have had to add roughly an extra £100.00 to the price, Defeating the object of the Etek..

If you bought a "second" then it is clearly not mint condition, you should expect faults with the paint that is why it is a second and costs less than a normal marker.

If you want zero faults do not buy factory seconds!!

If you want lcd for easier programming, although I have never thought eteks were too tricky, buy an Ego!

Eteks are designed to be more affordable so some of the technology from a standard Ego has to be removed to keep the cost down.

number 1 i didnt buy a second i bought a "first" apperently
number 2 i do find the programming on the etek tricky im a total noob and do not understand the terms in the manual (thats my error)
also im a junior plumber and i am quite used to diagnosing faults/programming via a led/lcd display/interface (i still find the etek tricky) and i also started a apprenticeship as a tool maker (before my boss's son wanted a apprenticeship) so have a slight idea of the operation of the etek and its build quality (which i must say are very good) i can find no fault with the machining just the paint job ! anyway i will be sending pictures to eclipse as requested by a memer of their staff tomo even though i have decided to keep the marker anyway !

I bought an EGO 08 last year (factory Second), only the slightest scratch on the regulator, Planet could have easily replaced the reg and sold it for full whack, worked perfect out the box and no trouble ever since.
