my adive is this
spped in the modern game does not apply as nearly every marker goes the same speed
now the main thing u want to look out for is the things u get from stock.
DM5 u get an ultralight, an on off and a lock neck. As far as the board i believe u have to buy the ramping chip seperately for it.
Ego u get a shaft, not as good as ultralight but still good. on off and a lock neck. u also get all the modes u need from stock. u also get training which is always fun.
now the next thing u want to look at is the size and weight.
DM5 is much bigger then the ego and it is also heavyer, even heavyer then the proto but not by much.
Ego is very very light, it is like a lightsaber, and the size is fenominal when it has every thing on it.
Now the next thin is looks, now unless u gst a special EGO ie xsv or nexus, i dnt think they look that nice. but its personal preference.
DM5 looks much beter then any other marker i think, it is very very sexy, but it is personal preference,
Now the last thing is if u will b playing many tournament scenes as maintenece comes into play.
Now the Ego is very very easy to maintain, and also it is always good that with every tournament u go to ther will b an EGO tech ther,
Now the DM5 i believe is much easyer to maintain as ther is no rammer or n e thing to understan, it is all in one package, but the only thing is if u get a chop, it takes much longer and much more patience in the xball bay to clean your bolt to an ego,
i hope this has helped
