Howdy.

I'm looking to buy a new marker and at the moment I'm trying to decide between an Ego or a DM4. Could you guys who have either post up what you think of them? Found the ego to be great accuracy wise but has quite a recoil at times. The DM4 is nice and small and looks rather sexy, but something in me doesn't trust the internals.

How have you found them? Much maintenance? Problems?

Your views would be apprecitated, ta.

DM4 or EGO

Not spent a lot of time on the dm4 but you can't beat the EGO.
Totally reliable, accurate, very fast and very easy to maintain.
Must admit not noticed too much kick on it, even when ramping it's very steady.

Ego, its smaller, lighter, faster, an ezer to clean when u have a quick turn around during games.

Customer support isnt really an issue with these 2 as the DM4 has Dye who are great, an the Ego has Planet who are great!!

I would go for the Ego simply cos it rips streams!! So its gona be my next buy aswell!!

The answer to that question is quite simple: try them both and pick the you like.

There is no point asking for people opinions b/c they are invariably partisan and are based on criteria different to your own.

see now im going to go the other way here.
Dm4s although are heavier and less gass efficient are the mutts.
They fart the paint out as apposed to kinda rattling it out. The ego is a nice bit of kit, its slowly converting Quake but the way a matrix shoots is more satisfying. Plus maintainence wise they are o rings.

Yea I agree and I've had a rattle on both, was just thinking about the longer term upkeep and using them alot rather than just a few hoppers worth. Cheers, keep it coming :)

have owned both

Ego-
smaller
lighter
maintenence is very simple
EFFICIENCY is far far better

Dm4-
Absolutely rock solid stable platform
so easy to send streams of paint flying out from it- especially with the M3 chip from tadao
i had zero problems with either of my dm4's in the 6 months of owning

My opinion, if you play a mid or front position then get a dm4 with m3 chip and CP roller bearing trigger- you'll be able to send ropes of accurate paint at people so quietly they'll think you're sniping
- if however you play mid back or back, or shoot more than 7 pods a game get the ego, it's lighter and more efficient

I miss my dm4's badly, but my ego takes some of the pain away
