Ego ups

Ok guys in about 24 hours, I'll receive a ego 05 compltey stock, I already know from experience they are great markers.

But what worthwhile upgrades are there and whats not worth doing, I'm not going to throw money at it as its a great marker already.

Currently i'm toying with the idea of a dart bolt & maybe a FRM ...

Any thoughts or suggestions are very welcome.

I found that the nexus bolt was the best bolt for me and I dropped the lpr 2 turns and upped the dwell to 10.... plus i think the shaft barrel sucks but im in the minority there - but TBH nothing really needs changed from stock its all personal preference

ok cool so what benefits did the bolt give youwith the amended setup? gentler on paint I guess yes ?

yeh basically gentler on paint - lightest bolt out there so I imagine made turning the lpr down a bit more succesfull - i never had breaks... ever..... unless it was down to really bad paint add a skeet delrin pin to the equation and sorted

Sounds intresting, i know the nexus bolt is a bit wallet lightening but it sounds like a good setup.

darky, the nexus bolt is about the same price as the dart, but loads better, have a word with ian and see if he has one / can get you one

contrast kit is the main upgrade for the ego but offers no performance enhancement.

the star frames are good, but a little pricey, wait a little while till the new frame comes out, and you can almost guarentee that you will be able to pick up an old style star frame nice and cheap.

if you want to be fancy (which is what u normally do) get a Tadeo board for it.

who you buying the ego off?

As said stock they are great but if you want to upgrade get a nexus/dart bolt, I have found that the DART during the winter is gentler on paint but it is not as light as a nexus, at the moment I am using dart in mine but will change to nexus when it is warmer. Then add a STAR frame this gives much more room for your fingers. Then the final upgrade is the tadao board.

You can use a barrel kit but I almost always use my stock shaft 2-piece barrel and find it to be very good

Agreed, mind was stock apart from an aftermarket trigger from the US, and was a machine gun . Pitty I've now sold it now really
