hi all, just wandered what is the best trigger setup.

i got an ego and someone suggested setting my trigger very close to the firing point so very little movement. This would speed up the bbs as i only getting 8-9 on a good day. I had a problem with it not shooting sometimes and the ego manual says if its too close to the edge it wont shoot fair enough, changed it back. .........but i had play with an angel at the weekend and it was setup just a touch would let it rip i was getting easily 15 (and no bounce for the angel cynics out there). On the feel of the trigger alone the angel felt much better.. than my beloved ego.

Does anyone know for the ego that is- what the best trigger setup should be (i am not touching a cp parts trigger) but ref to setup ie wider gap but with loose magnetic return or more magnet and rely on the small spring to push the trigger back.

Or has anyone setup somethese ultra light deltrin triggers from the states like fire mountain apparently you dont need the magnet and get extra bbs. (i know everyone say practise practise etc but i am old fart and hands aint that quick):):)

You can get most triggers to rip if you set it up to suit you
I remember having an evolution eblade that used to rip in the hands of a member of Just So Manc when he used it and not for me, but when I got my Empire Timmy set up it fired a dream.

It is all down to trial and error, spend some time til you get it right yourself as other people settings are not guaranteed to suit you.

Set the trigger travel to the amount of your liking before activation point, and after.
Then adjust the spring/magnet to the strength you prefer.
If you get some bounce, play around with the debounce/filters.

I set my triggers 2 to 3 mm before activation, between 1 to 2 mm after activation, with just enough magnet strength and the adjusted spring pretty far out.

I then adjusted the debounce/filters to rid of any bounce.

So a soft action is best? and (spring verus magnet?)

So is (bi and large) a soft setting on the trigger better than say full magnet strengh. I hear ya on the just after and just before the trigger setting think i had the ego setup too close to the firing point, so was pulling and it was missing out on trigger/shots. I will have a play with it to nite.

Regards spring versus magent is it better to say just remove one or the other and and rely on either the magnet or spring. I cannt figure out why ego have 2 meothods to just basically pull the trigger back into firing position? If anyone knows please let me know?

tx for the tips so far.:)

trigger is better now

hi guys,

Well i have had a play with the settings and found magnet strengh (on strong) is the best for me. I also found out how to take the trigger off and give it a clean. I found a bunch of broken shell lodged in the sides of the trigger. Its clean now:) and i figure my bbs should go up a bit.

Looking at the stock trigger though it does not have a bearing in it. Does anyone know if a off the market trigger with bearing would make a big difference?

There should be no probs with the standard trigger mate, its all about setting it up for you. Trial and error!

Try taking the trigger pin out, cleaning the pin and hole, apply some lube and put it back. This should help... When pulling the trigger you should be able to see the pin rotate slightly, a dirty or rusty pin will slow the trigger movement...

Yeah i didnt clean the pin there was some rust \ black old lub on the pin. Seems to have made a difference after cleaning it. I just thought it was the old paintball shell jamming between trigger and frame that was causing the problems. But now that you mentioned the pin should actually turn. mine wasnt at all!. but its oiled up now and smoooth. i have actually turned down the magnetic pull as well. :D

What you need to look at with trigger setups, is firstly...teh type of marker.

For example..Angels don't have lots of kick...Ego's, kick harder than Angels.

So you will need to allow for that as far as mechanical bounce goes.

Also...look who is firing it..

Your top finger, has to pull greater force to activate the trigger, as it is closer to the pivot (fulcrum) of the trigger, than the bottom finger, so you need to set it up so your top finger can achieve half the BPS you want.

So...yes, you need to set it for YOU...not anyone else.

Some people can get away with a heavy snappy pull, people with smaller, weaker fingers, might not.

You can also take a look at the shape of the trigger and whether it suits your fingers and they way you grip the gun. I changed mine to a CP sling back because it suited my middle finger grip better.
