what size allen key is it to remove it (i think its a 4.5mm but i cant find one anywhere in B&Q, not even in the stanley kits )

I think you will find its Imperial.
Best bet is to buy one set of each, metric and imperial..in the smaller sizes, tehy arent expensive.

you should get some keys with the ego
unless its the same size as the rammer cap, in which case you dont strangely...
