Ego Eyes & Maplins

I’ve an old set of Ego eyes where the wires have started coming away from the white connector that plugs into the board. I’ve been very reliably informed that you can buy these connectors from Maplins. Does anybody know what the correct term for this ‘little white connector’ is or even the part number so I can create a spare pair of eyes

I've got a few spares - bought for my Egomag project. I bought mine from Farnell electical & would post a link but website is down http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/home/homepage.jsp

The problem is I've run out of the tiny connector pins, which you'll also need to rewire your eye loom. They are a total PITA to crimp without the pukka tool, but this costs over £100 from Farnell. I made do with needle nose pliers, patience and a lot of cursing.

Do you have the invoice for farnells?
If you do, could you post up the order code numbers for the pins and the blocks.

If you have trouble crimping them, you can always fire up a soldering iron and solder the buggers on there.

the trouble with soldering them is you have to be really carefull not to fill the socket with solder as you solder the wire in. I found holding them down with a stanley blade carefully placed between the socket and crimp helps a lot.

Yep that's the one #335-7569 - sold in packs of 5

Picture shows 2 pin block but this is correct one

I agree it's easier to buy new eyes for the Ego, but I wanted to wire DM7 eyes into the Ego board for the Mag.

Starting to look very fiddly so another bright idea bites the dust – or I might just get that bored one night.

Picked up a parts kit with eye’s in it so at least that’s sorted.
