Hi Guys,

I used my ego 09 for the first time today at training (bought it off these boards), and it seems to be quite loud. I understand that Ego's tend to be quite loud, but most of the other guys commented that it seemed louder than a normal ego. At first I thought I must have been shooting hot, but when chrono'd I was getting around 275-280. Also the efficiency seemed to be quite poor, i was only getting a hopper and 2 and a bit pods of a 3k fill in a 1.2 litre tank. Now I don't know how much I should be getting of a 3k fill but I'd have thought its more than that. I've been told that there could be something wrong with the LPR, but I'm not to sure what I'm looking for to be honest. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also the battery was fresh, and I have tried other batteries so I don't think this is the problem.

Cheers,

Luke

Does the 09 have the updated barb and plank kit installed ?
Check the bumper oring on the rammer for wear.
Stock dwell 10.5ms
LPR 1.5 to 2 turns in from flush.

The ego09 has a stock barrel back 0.693, if small paintballs were used, it would affect efficiency by a small margin, but not the amount you have described.
Check for small leaks, clean and lube/oil the HPR, LPR and rammer, change orings if necessary.

How easy is it to push the bolt forward when the marker is gassed up? If its hard then check your lpr piston seal.

also if none of the above suggestions work it might be an over dwelling pilot valve. Easy way to test that is set your dwell to the lowest setting. (3.5?)

Thanks for your help guys. Turns out the dwell was set too 17 ms, also have cleaned the in line reg and LPR, will test it out soon to see if this has helped. The bolt is easier to push forward when gas now than it was before so it's looking promising. :)

Sorry Duke, it was sitting around for some time as I really didn`t use it, seeing this thread, I don`t think there`s anything wrong with it other than that dwell being too high, everything should be ok.

Yeah after stripping and cleaning it all the internals were spot on. Thanks for your response Bluey, at least it was an easy fix
