Hello guys,
I own an ego 9 gun and as I don't like to shoot with the bottle in my way, I would like to buy a remote coil and put the bottle on my back. But I am a bit unsure that this helps, as for example, HOW TO SWAP HANDS with a coil in the way?

Has anyone ever tried it with an ego 9? can you share experiences and information?

Thank you

The simple answer: don't do it

You can't switch hands with a remote line and on top of that the gun is going to be so top heavy and you have no way of steadying it so you won't hit a thing. Use a bottle and put the bottle against your shoulder and you'll do fine

damn, you are right... so no coil? I really wanted one bacause to me it looked cool not to have the damn bottle in the way.. but yes, if its making everything more difficult, then better not. thanks

only time its even worth considering using a remote line is if you are playing very long scenario games so that you can carry a LOT of paint and air, but even still you would really need to get something with a stock. but for all other paintball, its a waste of time.

i'm guessing you are reasonably new to the game so the best way to see how to properly hold your gun is to have a look at some youtube videos or some playing pictures of tournament players and such. or my display picture :p

Well I am relatively new,I know how to hold the gun, its only that I was really curious about the coil system :)
And I was keen to get it just for the woodsball sessions and not for the hall reball and speedball.

Thanks anyways ;)

In a speedball environment the remote line would be a major hindrance affecting your ability to switch hands for either side of a bunker etc

In woodsball, still a hindrance and awkward but you could switch hands. You would probably find yourself avoiding switching hands.

The main factor though is balance. The Ego is designed and fine tuned for the speedball player to be light and balanced with the cylinder fitted.

We did take a 'speedballer type' with us to NvS and gave him a vest. He opted to try it with a remote line, and was highly impressed in how much lighter it was even though he had removed a light fibre cylinder to his back. He played on with it but it was also a learning experience for how to shoot with his marker feeling much differently

As above,if you swap hands its a pain,if you don't then you might try feeding the hose through your top and ot of your sleeve - I remember people doing this years ago.If you do this ,you will need a stock,It think you could get one that screwed into the asa.
