Ego 7 Expansion Board

Been surfing on the nation and found a little thread concerning the new expansion board for the Ego 7 that adds a beeping timer (no ringtones though ) and the ability to plug in the RF chip.

Now here comes my question, the thread says that your marker board should have 4 connectors along the left side, any board that does not have these connectors cannot connect to the expansion board. Looking at my board, there are only 4 small holes along the left side and no connectors.

Does this mean i have to have a board upgrade in order to be able to get the expansion board so I can use RF mode once i get an RF chip (likely to be getting a pulse loader soon and want to use it to its full potential) If so how much will the board upgrade put me back?

You are correct.
Sounds like you have the old board, it will have four holes on the left just below the eye cable connector and two holes just to the right, below the solenoid connector.
To except the expansion board the holes should in fact be thin tubes that the expansion board pins plug into. Your board must also have ver 3.1 software on it.

Not sure on the availability of the new boards, my understanding is that guns have been coming with them for the last 2 months or so.

Well atleast i'm halfway on to the road to enlightenment, my board does have 3.10 software

I'll give the powers that be planet a call and seek their wisdom

If you download the Volume 2 manual from the planet web site and look at page 59 fig 14.11 this is the old board.

Looks like going over to RF mode is gonna be expensive now I may have to get a new board too

They reckon its a straight solder onto your board, but you will void the warranty
