I hadnt used this marker in a while - there is no return on the trigger. Any ideas ?

This is what ive tried so far:

- Tried adjusting the trigger screws
- I had one missing (though I would have assumed that the trigger would still return)
- Removed the trigger screws completely
- Separated the marker (removed two main body screws & wires) to get at internals
- Trigger spring looks ok - but hard to tell
- Magnets still seem to be magnetised
- Cleaned it generally

The only thing I can think of is the pin at the top which locks the trigger to the body of the marker might have siezed with the trigger itself - force didnt seem to work - how do I get that out  / other suggestions ?

Thanks

is the trigger mooving freely or is it stuck in one position?

the first thing to try is to completely remove the trigger adjustment screws, this will tell you if they are just restricting the trigger, if that doesn't sort it:

the missing set screw could be the magnetic return one (usually the very front screw on the top part of the trigger) it should be pretty simple to get a replacement with a trip to a DIY shop or a quick phone call to planet eclipse

the trigger might just need a clean, to get it out you should see a small set screw going through the top of the trigger and holding the trigger to the pin, once that is loosened the pin should simply wiggle free

failing that a couple of drops of eclipse gun oil on the trigger pin might be enough to free it up so that you can remove it and clean it properly

hope this helps

Thanks for the post Ryan - much appreciated.

The trigger moves back - but not forward again.
I also removed the set screw from the top of the trigger - wasnt any movement from the pin - but i'll try oiling myself up and wiggling about more to see what happens :)
Failing that - ill send it to eclipse as it hasnt been serviced in a few years!

Thanks again

if the trigger still moves then it probably won't be the pin as it isn't siezed or stuck with grit

so it might be the spring, not sure if you can but try and remove it without removing the trigger or (if you haven't already) tighten the spring tention screw right up but leave the others loose

Strip the body off..

Remove the Pin and trigger..

See if the pin is a tad rusty..

Clean off pin, lightly oil not grease .

Give the spring a little stretch..

Put it all back and see if that works... abit of wet and dry on the pin will get rid of any rust.
