Hi gang. Ok here we go. Can anyone help me with some questions I have regarding setting up my Ego 06.
I bought it last month and have used it in one tournament. I am relatively new to tounament level paintball. I am using a Reloader B hopper and unfortunately I am still having to borrow an air system until I can save up enough cash to buy one. I have the Ego manual but it's not that clear.
Here are my questions:
What is debounce. What do people mean when they say a trigger is bouncy?
Is there a right way to set up a trigger - how much travel, how much magnetic return force etc.
Settings? Dwell? (What is Dwell?) Fdso? Band Hi, Band Low? I don't know what these mean.
Is there somewhere where I can send my marker to be professionally set up? How much would it cost?
Obviously I want my beautiful marker to fire at its best possible rate of fire but how do I set it up to achieve this. Because I don't own an air system I can't fire it until I attend a tournament, and then I'm too busy trying to win to take time out to fiddle with the trigger and settings. And I`m worried that I might spend ages getting the marker ROF good sitting in my front room and looking at the ROF on the LCD, only to find that when I put air through it it will be different. Anyone got any help or advice to offer?

hello,
bouncy trigger means it so sensative that the recoil from the gun is enough to make the microswitch click and fire of another shot(s).
dwell is how long the noid has to recharge its self after a shot.
and fsdo is FIRST SHOT DROP OFF which means if the gun has not been fired for more than 4 mins the next 1st shot will be at a lower velocoty. well its 4 mins on my ego7 but not very sure about the 06

and dan randon is a wizard with egos so if you spot him at tournament have a word with him.

good luck

Dwell is the time the solenoid is open for each shot. In laymans terms the amount of air pushed out for each ball.
Motocrossboy covered debounce, the debounce setting on your ego sets the sensitivity of your microswitch/optoswitch.
There is no correct way to setup your trigger, it is all personal preference. Have a tinker and see what you think feels good, then make sure your marker is sensing your shots and you're good to go!
If you can reset to stock board settings i'd leave it at factory settings for the time being.
Band hi is the time in the trigger pull your marker registers the pull, band lo is the time when your marker registers the trigger release.
Your marker will shoot fine at factory settings with air.
To reset your marker, undo the grips and press the red button on the board (near the trigger sensor on an 06 i think) then scroll through the setup menu to find "reset" using the up and down buttons on the back of the gripframe. Press the middle button, then find "yes?", press the middle button again and you will have reset factory settings.

All the info here is on the eclipse manual for 06s on their downloads page. http://www.planeteclipse.com/Folders/Downloads/Manuals/EgoVol2A.pdf

If a bouncy trigger makes it fire again with the recoil of the marker, wouldn't that make trigger bounce a good thing.. ie the marker becomes a bit more 'automatic' and it is easier to achieve a higher rate of fire. ( I am rubbish with the two fingers trigger pull technique )?

To be honest, these days you don't really need to worry about trigger setup.

There is no need to set a trigger to be easy to walk fast, because with ramping, you only need to maintain 7bps or whatever and you should be able to do that on even a long trigger pull.

Get Planet to put the latest software version available for the 06 on it.

In fact, if you want, just send it to them, ask for a service and setup and software update, it will come back sorted, then just shoot it.

I'm not sure if the option of mechanical OR optical trigger. If it does, use the mechanical trigger and you wont have to worry about setting up the TT software.

If your trigger pull is fairly long before and after the point of fire and is set to a medium weight, it shouldn't bounce.

To test for bounce, fill the hopper with paint, air it up and smack the end of the bottle hard with your hand. It shouldn't fire. It certainly shouldn't take off on it's own either!
