Ego : 05 XSV v 06

Hi guys

First of all, sorry if this is the wrong section
Atm im using an old Angel IR3, and im thinking of upgrading. Im lookin gat an Ego, ive read some reviews etc, and none of them are bad i guess. But IF i can stretch to it, would u guys recommend an 05 XSV, or an 06 Ego.
If funds dont allow, i guess it will be vanilla 05.

Would anyone mind outlining the major differances between those 3 so im sure i have the right.

well tbh, ive got an 05 xsv and 2 x nexus 06`s and the 05 xsv is to me the best, i prefer the feel of the 05 star trigger with the 05 star frame over the 06,
but its all down to personal preferences

try both if you can

The 05 had a lot more kick to it, used to have to pull it down after 3-5 shots. The 06 XSV worked a dream though, if a little loud. I'd go for an 06.

oddjob, sounds like your 05 was setup crap

the operating system and pressures of the markers barely changed from 05 to 06

main advnces of the 06 egos (stock) were

- integrated rail
- snatch grip
- spring and magnet trigger returns
- better detents
- better electronics
- lighter, centred trigger (better)


in action they shot pretty much the same though
all egos are "loud" by nature of their design

if you can, get the most up to date you can
the -6 boards are vastly superior in terms of user friendlyness to the 05 boards

Lovetones right as usual ,I would still take my 05 XSV over any 06 you'd care to mention (except the SL66 of course) ,just a 'feel'thing try them both the 05 XSV is a hell of a marker for the money but either way your happy..

I have an 05 XSV..it rocks, quite plainly...there is no difference internally (mechanicly) apart from the shape of the detents, to an 06.

It is light, sexy and reliable and also, limited edition.

The only thing I would replace mine with, would be an 07 PL or SL66...but i would still keep mine (one off!)
