Ego 05 inline reg washers lube?

Heya everyone,

i have infront of me, a friends Ego 05, i have opened up the inline regulator to find the washers covered in what i have been told is..... vaseline used as lube, will this be a problem or shall i clean it off n relube it with gun oil or grease?

that is indeed a problem lol why vaseline???.....nvm just wipe it off and use grease i think the manual says for the reg??

the spring pack dosen't really need grease as they only compress and are not a sealing part, just lubing the piston will surfice

Cheers for the advice guys, i dug the old manual out and it says use vaseline however it didnt say cake the whole reg in it which it was so i've left it on the piston n left a little on the spring pack. does this sound like the best compromise?

as renie said, the washers dont really need lube, just the orings,vaseline can be use on orings but after time it will have a bad effect on them, your best using a silicone based lube,as this will not damage the rubber in the orings and you only need i light amount on them,

Hmmmm the only silicone Lube i have its "smartparts" Sleek, that should be fine shouldn't it?

yes mate that should be fine, only use a light amount tho you dont need to overload the orings

vaselines pretty **** hot as lube, it doesnt damage o rings. and the sprung washers are a moving part so a little lube wont hurt them itll just stop them rubbing

before we made the eclipse grease we used valaline on the reg piston o'ring and sprayed oil WURTH on the shim stack and oil based oil will work
