This may seem stupid or I am. I took apart my EggII today to find out what board I had and when I got it apart there was no evidence of what board it is. Is there any clear way to find out what board it is?

I'm fairly sure on this

If it has a push button on/off then it is an original board. If it has a switch for the on/off and a black adjustable speed control then it is a Y-board. But if it has a switch on/off and no speed controll then it is an Z-Board.

Y-board

Aside from the board revisions in the Egg2 the main differences are in the feed neck, the shape of the insides the impeller. On the original egg the feel tube came out at an odd angle and resulted in a mouted hopper looking very odd as it pointed skywards. The internal base of the hopper was also flat and not angled towards the impeller like the Egg2, Also the impeller was solid plastic which led to the ocasional break
