Egg hopper - lid mods?

Has anyone on here has modded the lid on an egg to use magnets rather than springs? I've already dropped one of the springs out on mine (got pissed off with the SNAP! mousetrap effect) and that's made the lid easier to keep open.

Was thinking of ditching my springs and fixing some magnets on it instead

Any suggestions.... apart from go and buy a halo, velocity, pulse etc...

if it's a good fit then you don't need anything as it locks in the closed position anyway.

Just ditch the springs they still lock open or closed unless they're creamed..
Prolly one of the first mods to do on an egg btw.....

I can see your point but I play woodsball rather than X-ball. Worried that a branch or something may snag the lid minus springs and knock it open. I'll shop for some mini magnets and have a go at modding one of my eggs.

i made a ghetto speedfeed for mine, worked perfctly (or at least just as well as the proper speedfeed on my reloader)

I took one spring off mine then filed off most of the catch that holds it in the closed position, then added a tiny piece of foam to soften the "snap" when it shuts. All works very smooth & free from problems in both woodsball & supair.

Better still, get rid of the horrible thing & buy a Pulse, so long as you get a black one they work without problem (just make sure you get a black one cos the smoke all seem to crack)
