Hi, Ive been playing PB for about 4 months now and got my first tourney markers.

I decided to buy british and went with an Ego and an Etek2.

After surfing here a while i have seen the phrase 'eclipse sheep' appear a few times from bob long/dm fans. I even remember one guy going ballistic in the ego10 thread slandering eclipse for copying bob long's innovations.

Is the term 'eclipse sheep' just meant to describe a demographic of PB players? Or is it meant as slander from players who want to be individuals but end up being the other side of the fence because they all own a victory/dm/Intimidator?

As in title, this is a discussion, DO NOT FLAME please.

It is intended to poke fun at people who worship the ego for no reason other than the fact that everyone else worships them.

The argument from the accusers is that there are much better products out there, and the sheep can't think outside the box.

I guess i have been one of these so called sheep but with good reason.

With an eclipse marker you can generally say take it out of the box and with very little or no maintainace it will work for you everytime without fail. ( Unless a complete muppet and can't do the very basic of maint on it )

I have lately gone in other directions, buying a Tigers DM9 of which i couldn't get on with because i thought the build quality compared to PE markers was poor.

Then onto a couple of bob long marqs, The CLOSER and now a VICTORY.

I Cant make a major judgement about these markers yet until i have used one for some time, but from the first couple of outtings with the closer, greatly set up by Lump.. i loved it..

I do tend to want to pick up my EGO09 though at every flinch or hint there is a problem with the said above markers, instead of trying to work the problem out.

Already stated in this thread by someone saying its just a tease, no harm ment by it..

PE make great markers and thats fact.

I will be trying to stick with my new VICTORY all day tomoz @ the NSPL, provided there isn't any issues with it..

If so i will be back to my sheep ways and taking my 09 ego out..

Regards

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.. :D

I think you'll find in any sphere of, the top products will attract followers, the Ego range of markers is one of our sport's elite line and thus attracts thousands of admirers, most of whom just get on with playing the game, some others end up taking their Egos to bed with them.

As for me?
I can't possibly take my ego to bed, it's far too large, I've only got a king size pit.

Anyway, don't be put off by the term 'sheep', it's a compliment for the manufacturer's of the marker, nothing more.

Wow, I sense some of you may have a visit from Tom Allen soon, he will be disappointed. Expecting sheep finding people, you all better keep the kettle warm. :D :D
