Eclipse Shaft Barrel compatibility

Just a quick question.

Are Eclipse Shaft barrels inter changeable?

Ie could I use a front from say a Shaft 1 or 2 and screw it into the backs of a Shaft 3? Or are they only compatible with the same series of the barrel, ie only shaft 3 backs work with shaft 3 fronts etc?

Any help appreciated.
