I have an eclipse cocker that was recently upgraded to an EBlade. However, the velocity is right on the edge... sitting about 295ish and potentially can go over, I think I have been lucky it hasnt so far. This is also not long after it has been serviced by Planet...

What are the consequences if I replace the main spring for a lighter one? will it affect it much...... and will it sort my velocity probs? will I have to alter my pressure settings on the Reg?

Don't be afraid! A lot of cockers are meant to have velocity adjusted via the main regulator. Adjusting through the rex is probably just as easy, though, unless it is at the end of it's range of motion.

If you get a lighter mainspring, you may need to increase input pressure, get a heavier hammer, get a lighter valve spring, or some combination of the above. None of these things are hard to do.

If it is shooting under 300, and you haven't had problems yet, what are you wanting to change something for? Stop playing around with your autococker, it will make your hands grow fur.

OK, I got my eBlade just b4 the euro indoor (chrono limit 270fps) adjusting the rex all the way down I could get no lower than 275/280, so I just adjusted the screw on the bottom of the inline and it allowed me to hit 270 and below :)

The rex is at the lower limit now, so looks like Ill have to dial the pressure down a bit....

cheers all :)

if you put a lighter main spring in it will reduce the velocity as the hammer wont be hitting as hard, you will then have to sweet spot the reg to make sure you are getting the best efficiency out of your marker, then worry about the velocity (shouldnt be a prob) theres a good guide to sweet spotting on the vantapes website, theres a link at the top of the tech room somewhere
