That, my hairstylewise challenged friend, is the Brass Eagle Golden Eagle (as you could have read on the page). It is one of the first semi autos to hit the market. Many months ago we actually discussed them. They are as heavy as a gigantic block of concrete, and are about the size of the USS Nimitz. And they shoot like crap too. The internals that of the firing mechanism (or correctly named 'worky bits') are so damn heavy, that when the marker is fired, it has recoil.
But hey, the guy is selling it for 16 quid, and the highest bid so far has been a fiver!
Hmm, I know Manike is after one for his collection of paintball historic items. Somebody wake him up!

That my friend is one of the early blowback semis- back when Brass Eagle wasn't a byword for mediocrity. They did a smaller one called the "Poison" which would carry on firing even when it sucked liquid and ice was forming on the barrel (or so I read in a test).

Apparently the Golden Eagle weighed an absolute tonne - as it was chiefly a block of metal, but at least if you ran into a tree, then you might not come off worse, and the gun would keep going.

Reviewers have said that it chopped like a . . . choppy thing, but the woodlands would end up the colour of your paint at the end of the day. I also remember a "trigger crank" gadegt for it - a two lobed rotor that would fit into the trigger guard and fire your gun as you turned the handle, like a Wild West gatling - although I suspect only Robbo could hold one with one hand nowadays. :D

I remember a Tourney review where the Turks were using these, along with about 3 linked remote tanks mounted on wooden backboards (like jet packs).

Cheers Lads. Must admit, it looks like a scaled-down uzi or something :)

I did read on the page that it was a brass eagle, golden eagle. But i just have never seen one before, and wanted your paintball-god-like comments on this marker. Unfortunately Buddha 3 replied so I just had to make do with some peon's viewpoint, ho hum. :D

...only fired 50 paintballs..
and chopped 150 ;)

Cheers

BTW Budda, please don't hurt me. :D

Nah mate, u read the page wrong. The current bid is £16, and the first bid was £5. And since his reserve has not been met yet, it means hes wanting over £16 for it.

Is he having a laff?

Might be worth it for the scrap resale value - obviously explains why BE make guns out of plastic these days - they used all the metal on these things.

Seriously, unless you are planning on an curio museum of antique paintball equipment (no snide comments about my playing ability, Goatboy), I'd save yer squids.
