Hi everyone,

As you can tell I'm new to these boards. Been playing recreational paintball for a couple of years but now I'm in a position to actually do it more often and even spend a little cash on some of my own stuff.

I've already joined one forum and spoke to a few people on there but noticed this forum aswell so i thought i would join them all and see which one I'm finding the best.

I've just bought my first bit of equipment, which is a Proto Switch Axis Pro Goggles in camo and I'm very impressed by them. Next item to buy would be a good starter marker than can be upgraded. Only problem is, is that I don't know what would be best to buy as I don't know the difference between scenario games and Tourney Games and it seems alot of people say you buy the marker to suit the game you play lol.

Anyways thanks for having a look and I hope to speak to some of you soon or even have a cheeky go on your marker

Hi bud and welcome to the community.

I'm guessing you been playing in the woods so far. How did you like the feel and looks of the markers at the site?? Where they what you like the look and feel of, or do you want to try something different???

Your best bet is to go to a walk on day and look at everybodies markers to realise what you want before paying out and being possibly upset with what you get.

Not teaching you to suck eggs, but just in case you don't know, or for that matter anybody else who is new reading this in the future........

Walk-On = A day where people turn up at local paintball site with there own kit (but kit hire is available) to play. This is a lot cheaper than a normal day. Expect to pay £20ish for ticket and either take your own paint or buy cheap from the site owner. 99% of players will let you try there markers. The other 1% will be hated and jeered at until also allowing you too.

Well each time I've played I used the standard marker that you get issued with. Didnt find that to bad to be honest and wasn't particulary heavy to carry. I did though on my last game upgrade to one of the MP5 looking markers with a electronic hopper and carbon tank, that didnt feel particulary heavy to be honest. But saying all that I'm not 100% sure on what kind of games i would play seeing as all I do at the moment is run round a few woods lol.

I am defintely looking to go on a walk on day to have a good look round at other peoples equipment. Just got to find a place that is holding one soon and get there.

And thanks for the advice.
