Thanks for posting that. It was the first time I have seen X-Ball and I have to say I am not as impressed as I thought I would be. Watching 25 frenetic games to have the score end in 13-12 wasn't exactly what I was expecting. Seems to me a 3-2 score would have been just as sufficient in deciding the winner. I know that is a bit over-simplified, but I just don't see that it has much more appeal than the traditional games have and I see one drawback in that most people couldn't afford to play it.

The luck aspect is taken out of it in X-ball. What I mean is, in a traditional match, Strange could have taken 3 or 4 Dynasty players off the break and mopped up the rest within a minute. That's it. Game Over. Where's the fun in that?

With the X-ball format you definitely know who the better team is (you know what I mean). And judging from this game, Strange and Dynasty seem to be pretty much on a par with eachother. However, I don't think this will last long, bearing in mind that this was Dynasty's first real shot at X-ball.

Another appealing thing about X-ball is that I'm sure it makes it all the more worthwhile waiting for the "Big Game" to start knowing that you're gonna be presented with 40 minutes (or whatever) of top notch, in you face paintball.

Yeah, the best two out of three format for finals games makes it alot more interesting than a straight round robin, but I'm pretty sure X-ball is the way to go.

As for the cost, I'm sure limited paint variations of the game could be worked out for low/non-sponsored teams. After all, your typical X-ball "play" seems to last less than a minute. How much paint do you really need to take out with you??

Uh I watched the 3 first games and couldn't see ****. But thanks for the link.

I filmed some good images of X-ball in Toulouse. Got some great images of the Danes against Portugal and two other matches I think. I'll try and get the images up.
