Hi..

Question about barrels, my ultralite seems to be quite a large bore for most paint, I was using draxxus and proto paint yesterday for the first time with it, and it was just dropping right through, and if I took off the barrel, put some paint in it and looked down it you can see daylight round the paint... Most other barrels i've used tend to be most accurate when the paint won't fall through but fits nice and snug but not tight... Anyone else have this problem or do you use different barrels? (2 piece)?

Cheers

the Ultralite barrel backs, are available in different bore sizes.

an unmarked Ultralite back is .688 bore, you can buy backs up to .695 bore.

i would suggest buying a .688~ and a .692~ for larger paint, a good way to check if your bore to paint match is. pick a couple of balls out of the box, and place them, one by one, into one of the backs. when one goes in, hold it upto a light source, if there is 3 points of contact (black bits where you cant see the light source) the bore to paint match will be pretty good. the ball should roll through, but not drop, and also shouldn't be too tight that you have to force it through.

hope that helps....a little.

The Draxus paint that we were running at the masters yesterday was sized at around .684, so if you have the standard .688 bore and were also using the smaller paint, you will have had balls rolling out and the daylight around the balls.

This is when the .684 UL back comes into its own.

Is this the barrel back that came with the marker I sold to you? If so it is a standard bore .688, I never had to use a different sized back, it shot great with almost any ball...

should have 3 points of contact around the ball.

best way to remedy = barrel kits

e.g. freak
unitec
pipe kits

or just buy a small medium and large bore of the barrel you have:)

Bore-sizing is sooooo old skool :p

All the cool kids roll with big bore barrels these days, who needs accuracy when you can just run up and mug people??......
