Dye Throttle Reg Leak

so, i lend my air system out during the week, and apparently it is now leaking from the pin at the top. i don't have any air right here to refill it and have a look but does anyone have any ideas??

are they easy enough to take apart or is that not advisable?

Hi

There may be some dirt in there that is stopping the pin valve from sealing.
You can uncrew the pin valve using a pair of needle nose pliers and check that the sealing o-ring is clean and not damaged. be careful not to over tighten the valve when re-fitting.

If you clean the seal and it all looks ok and it still leaks call DYE Europe on 0208 649 6330 and ask for the tech department and they will arrange to send you a new valve to try.

very kind of you Jeff and thanks to both of you for your help so far.

it turns out the leak is from the fill nipple. is there a reason this would happen or is it a case of replace the fill nipple?

There may be some dirt in there Dusty.

If it is leaking down the nipple then it could be the o-ring on the piston that is either damaged or dirty. If it leaks around the outside of the nipple then it may just need removing and new PTFE tape applying.

If it is a piston o-ring or the piston is damaged in some way due to hot filling etc then give us a call and we can sort it out.

i think the safest thing for me to do is just replace the fill nipple. thanks Jeff, will give you guys a phone today and buy a couple of spares.
