considering with the picture clearly showing the jam release trigger on the bottom that is used to operate the centre rotor arm, and without the jam release trigger there it wouldent work, so I think it is quite obvious and self explanitory.

It isn't just the 3rd gen Rotors that have the jam release, but it is the only one to incorporate the 'Shark Fin' design, which is the question that mattz456 originally asked.
