Hmm...I wonder how long it will take for the NPPL to announce that DYE jerseys will be allowed henceforth...

That's probably the strongest vote for the demise of the PSP I've seen so far. It'll be a good thing, I think, as finally the attention divide will be erased and we eventually can go back to seeing more of our favorite teams in the same place instead of coughing up absurd amounts of time and money hopping around trying to soak it all up. The drain on the paintball paparazzi's budget for travel is in need of remedy--if buyers can't afford to send us out to work, then we don't eat!

Onward with the demise of PSP, please.

Methinks you're a little early closing the door on the PSP. While it's a big step for Dye to become a Gold sponsor, it's likely they just see the size of the NPPL market and want to get in on it.

While I won't argue that 10 man looks to be on it's deathbed, the number of teams playing Xball is increasing with each event. I think PSP will stick around a while longer.

What will be interesting is if NPPL enforces the no pink/orange clothing rule on those Proto jerseys now. They were talking about it in Tampa... ;)

:D :D

BS..... XBall rules and divisional XBall is going from strength to strength. Sure the NXL is having some problems at the moment and next year with the alleged TV deal it really will be the make and break for the league structure. 10 man is all but gone, which is a shame in some ways but time moves on but there are still a hell of a lot of teams which play XBall in the divisions and to lose the PSP with this format would be a great shame.

I don't think that two leagues are impossible to sustain. We all seem to have a mentality that one one will remain standing, but I think that the PSP and the NPPL could both continue. Dye is putting money into the NPPL to make money, after all, not make some sort of political statement. I think.

I agree with Gyroscope. Both leagues can survive. However for it to be successful I think the PSP needs to ditch 10 man all together and focus on Xball only. Focus on having good fields and refs and the PSP will continue to prosper. I think the PSP should also add one more Divisional Xball division. It should be Pro, Am, Nov, and Rookie with similiar step up and step down rules as the NPPL.

The NPPL needs to keep doing what it's doing and with the ability for the NXL'ers to come over it will just legitimize the pro division and the entire series. Now the best play in both leagues :)

this is really interesting news, considering the interview in the last issue of Facefull with Gary Shows.
he said something to the effect of 'why would we sponsor a series that keeps banning our product'?
